[chiglug] systemd

hi,

systemd is increasingly becoming an apples to oranges comparison to sysvinit. it becomes much less objectionable (imho) if you look at it as a full-blown system services middleware between the kernel and the user.

i can only speak to my personal experiences with using Fedora 22 at home and SL7 at $job, but after having an experience like this i went back to FreeBSD:
[lincoln at offensive ~]$ su -
Password:
[root at offensive ~]# reboot
Failed to start reboot.target: Access denied

and so on for shutdown, echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger (which I think is just a distro feature but I digress), etc. perhaps i did not know the correct systemd invocation to restart my box :)

OTOH, i really like its very simple and straight-forward containerization options with systemd-nspawn. on the other other hand, systemd seems to have full control of cgroups and doesn't play well with other tools like LXC which is quite frustrating.
