What about a series that isn't focused on a specific technology, but
has something more meta that ties them together? For example "A day
in the life of..." which deep-dives into the the unique
responsibilities, tools, and best practices of different position /
industry types (i.e., how are the roles in Finance/Trading different
than that of a manufacturing facility, or a software shop).

This gives a good list of tasks that would train someone how to hone
their Linux admin skills. What about distilling this list down, and
making each item a separate topic (some are simple enough to cover 2 -
3 in one meeting).
