[chiglug] Linux kernel amateur hour series?

Hey All,

Some time ago we had discussed having a 'Linux Kernel Subsystem Amateur
Hour' series at our meetings. That is, although not every talk at our
meetings would be about kernel subsystems, we'd have talks on the kernel
subsystems as a theme. I'd like to follow-up on that.

I think having a more general 'Linux Kernel Amateur Hour' might be
better - it would give us a broader range of possible topics than if we
focused only on kernel subsystems. People could give talks on any
particular part of the kernel (or even on kernel development, submitting
patches, release processes, building custom kernels, etc.).

Is this something that folks would be interested in?

I'm not thinking that we'd only talk about the kernel. Regular talks
like the ones we've had in the past would still be welcome. This would
expand things a bit, though.

Let us know your thoughts,

Jim
