[Discuss] mailman mta issue? I don't receive any notifications while subscribed to the discussion list

does anyone receive notifications? I can send to the list and verify
receipt via archives but I am not receiving any notifications of new
responses or posts... speculation leads me to wonder if there is a
send issue with the mta due to dns configuration with mx records and
or rdns records... I'm familiar with rackspace and what they provide
in terms of support for smtp
