<div dir="ltr">I'm not sure if this is more "enterprise-y" a solution than you were hoping for, but I've had good luck using Puppet with hiera-eyaml (<a href="https://github.com/TomPoulton/hiera-eyaml">https://github.com/TomPoulton/hiera-eyaml</a>).
