<div dir="ltr"><div>I am curious why the derivatives for this case. I suspect they come at a cost. For instance I would think Ubuntu is going to be more stable (for whatever we think that means) than a derivative. <br><br>I seem to remember Mint being "good for older hardware because some drivers are no longer in the current ubuntu repo" but then there is a huge list of why Mint isn't a good idea.<br></div><div><br></div><div>I would go with Ubuntu <br>then pick between:<br>LTS so you don't have to worry about updates as often <br></div><div>or cutting edge and deal with dist-update every 6 months (deal= he does it and you deal with the side effects or you just do it.) (don't ask me how much of a problem it is.. I hardly do it and really it depends.
